Does anyone know the torque setting to install the screw in metal type of pcv valve on an ap2 valvecover ?. I have an 04-05 ap2 valvecover on my ap1 and my service manual doesn't show the ap2 pcv valve. I know most things that screw into the valvecover are about 8.7 ft lbs of torque, just want to confirm the setting if possible. I did a search and nothing came up. Thanks for any replies.

interesting...i installed an ap2 valve cover on my ap1, and i can't remember if i found the torque setting, but something in my head tells me i saw 14 ft/lb.

but when i installed it, i just tightened it until it felt right.

thanks for the reply on this. Yeah since the pcv valve uses a crush washer perhaps it could be in the 14 ft lb range, I don't want to over-torque it though. Perhaps I will just snug it down if I can't confiirm the exact number. Would it be listed in an owner's manual for an Ap2 ?. thanks for the reply.

yours came with a separate crush washer?

i didn't install it with a washer...

the pcv valve doesn't come with a crush washer, but it uses one and needs to be ordered seperately - typical Honda, I believe it is the same as the oil drain plug washer - 14mm. Since the pcv valve sits almost horizontally it could leak a small amount, which is the rationale for the washer.

yeah if it should seep down the road , just get a washer then.

To keep things safe I torqued mine down to 8.7 ft lbs, like all the other bolts on the valvecover, hopefully that is safe.
