Top Drop After Glass Conversion...
Hi folks...
I recently had my '01 plastic window top replaced with a glass top. All is well in the conversion itself and I'm very pleased. However, I've noticed that my top drops soooo deeply into the roof-well, that one of my frame bars is placing a little too much pressure on the glass rear window when top is folded down. This pressure is translating to a "rubbing" of the vinyl top through pressure of the rear-most frame bar pressing the vinyl top against the glass window when folded down. This is causing a "shiny-lined wear" almost immediately. I want to avoid any further such wear.
It seems to me I've seen folks grumble after having had group car meets that some S2000's tops fold further down than others. And that board members have suggested an easy adjustment that can be done to make the top fit further down into the roof-well. Now...my request is for the same adjustment information...but because I want to go in the other direction. I want to know what adjustment I need to make in order to have my top fold down not quite so much. Thereby, the bar in question won't be pressed so deeply into the well and therefore won't press against the glass window quite so hard.
I've already attempted searches. Either searches are still needing much work with V4, or I'm just using the wrong search parameters. So hopefully, someone reading this thread will know how this adjustment is performed, will appreciate that I've already attempted to search, and will patiently and with a community sense of service, offer advice for me .
Thanks in advance!

Not sure if this will help out at all, but it might. I know when people put hardtops on their cars spacers come with the hardtop install kit to place on the soft-top. I think the rubber spacers help prevent the soft-top from sitting too low or something.
Here is a link the install where it shows the rubber spacers i'm talking about... http://handa-accessories.com/S2000/s2khardtop.pdf

Dave, On the tops that owners complain about not lowering enough, there are worn or streched out elastic straps. I am not exactly sure where these straps are located but your new top may have tight straps? Did you do a full frame swap or modify the exising 00 -01 frame??

There's a TSB on that. I had a copy of it somewhere, but I can't find it right now.
If I remember right, you remove the side trim panel and there is an an adjustable stop down in the side (under the little fuzzy thingies where the top folds down just behind the door). You need a stubby ratchet and a crows foot wrench to get to it.
Hope that helps a little. I'll keep looking for that TSB.

Dave,
TSB 01-038, "Top Cover Does Not Stay Down--Comes Loose in Back"
I THINK this is the one that deals with the adjustment you're looking for. Maybe Poindexter can look it up for you.
