Default Too little caster causes problems?

I've had the car aligned and the tech reset the front camber to -1* and toe to 0 (UK spec). However, with these settings, the maximum caster he could dial in was something out of spec, closer to 5*15' than the recommended 6*45' for both front wheels. He said there shouldn't be any problems with that, as "camber and toe are more important." Hmm.

Nothing in the front suspension was loose or seemed broken, he noted, that might have caused this caster issue.

Any idea if running too little caster causes problems?

Tell your tech to try again.

The concentric adjustment for Caster goes 2 directions, he should easily be able to get 6.45.

I am actually trying less caster this alignment (5.55) to see if it will quicken up the steering. With 6.40 dialed in and a heaver front sway bar, the steering effort was kind of high.

Less caster (in theory) can make the car feel too sensitive to steering input and make the car feel unstable at high speeds.

Interesting. After the alignment, the car felt pretty good at higher speed, but the steering felt very light and without feel at parking lot speeds. Probably mainly due to the car's wheels all pointing more straight than before

250kmh on the Autobahn felt pretty good, too. I'll go back and see if he can get the caster down right.
