Default Tonight's finding, AP2 oil leak

Have an 05 here with a slipping clutch. Some oil on the bottom of the trans, figure it's the rear main seal.

Pull the trans and flywheel....there's a large oil gallery plug with a 14mm allen hole, sealed with a big aluminum washer. The washer was distorted to crap, and leaking oil out into the bell housing all over the clutch.

I'll put it back together with an AP1 flywheel, ACT PP, new OEM disc, and a plug/washer from my last engine job.

Jezus!

I think all AP2 owners with a slipping clutch should take a peek under the car, right where the engine meets the trans. Make sure it's not leaking.

I had an oil leak too. MY2005 with 22k miles on it.

The oil leak was where the engine meets the trans.

For my scenario, it was the input shaft seal that was leaking. Clutch was okay though. Repaired under warranty along with the 2nd gear pop out (TSB 05-009).

I've seen leaking main seals and input shaft seals do the same thing
