Default Toda Pistons and FRM cylinder walls

Will the toda pistons or any forged piston be okay w/ the fiber-reinforced metal cylinder walls of the f20c block? Ive seen quite a few prelude motors torn up pretty bad because of them not resleeving and going onto forged pistons.

Any info would be appreciated.

Hope this falls into technical.

In my opinion, the cost of installing these in a non-sleeved motor with the potential of it failing is not worth the cost of just having it sleeved. In short, I wouldn't trust it, but all of my motors are sleeved

Well, i would be doing the install my self. I just want to know if it would be safe. I dont see the f20c having any kind of sleeve problems at this compression. My last motor (bseries) was sleeved but just was a pain in the ass waiting to get it back and all.

i e-mailed todas distributor here in the united states. They said it works fine, no sleeving boring or honing needed.

But i would love to hear from someone who has actually done it.

Thanks for Reply

I've heard the Silicon content of most forged pistons is too high to be used on a FRM bore. I don't have any 1st hand experience with this matter, so take it as an opinion only.

Yikes, that doesn't look very good. A little off topic, but do b-series engines have FRM cylinder walls? I know of quite a few people running forged pistons in b-series blocks.

Only the Prelude, NSX, and S2k use FRM liners.

As far as I know they are, but what silicon content they are, I have no idea.
