Default Timing jumping

Hey guys, we were checking the base timing to see if it could be off... Been having problems making power with my setup. Its something we cant figure out but thats anohter story. I have the Aem ems and took it to a very good tuner, so he knows whats going on. We took a timing light to see where the base timing should be and it seems that the timing mark appear then dissapear. Then when they apear they will stay on the mark then they will jump around. This is very odd and im tryinig to get some input as to what it could be. We replaced the plugs to see if that was the problem but no help. Its very odd as to why the timing will not stay on even when we are able to adjust it using timing sync in the ems. Timing chain is new... You see the 3 dots apear then they move around, wtf

Is your idle speed stable?

well its very hard to keep a stead idle speed esp with ITBS. We tried to get it as close as possible. We were thinking possibly the same thing.

Set the timing values to be the same for all rows around where the idle values are around.

I know nothing about this but, was wondering what you use for engine timing pulses? The CFK sensor on the front of the motor, the cam angle sensors or all of the above?
