Regarding that last post from orangebarius, could this be the reason why a brand new chain tensioner is making noise, AGAIN, after 1.5k miles?

Got it new, installed it and now i get the noise again. And badly as well.
Start the car everything is normal, after a bit of spirited driving i stop the car and bam it hits. 1.5k miles tho? Thats a bit insane.

Any input guys? I am going nuts here...
did you check your oil level?

Sorry for the noob questions but this seemed the best spot to ask. I just got an 03 with 57k miles. I am getting the clutch chatter and some other sounds that may have to do with the tct. BUT I am also getting a leak out the front of the timing cover. Is this normal for a 57k mile car? Is this a really bad sign? Can the cam shaft seals be easily replaced?
After reading this post what should I have replaced when they do the seals if that is what the problem is?
Chain
Tensioner
Anything else?

Thanks for helping a newby!

Haven't really noticed the noise while I had the s/c on. Well, I took it off last weekend to make room for a turbo kit and the noise is back. I had a sandblasted worm gear and either they didn't sandblast it well enough or it just got smoothed out. I'm going to sandblast my spare and try again. This is so obnoxious.

Which of this is the worm gear, Is it the screw looking thing? I'm taking mine apart to be sandblasted. What kind of shop does sand/media blasting? I didn't want to sift through 14 pages of posts, what page gives the description on how to sandblast? Maybe I can do it myself.

Just for future readers sake... I made the switch from M1 to Amsoil Synthetic at the start of a new TCT install... In the last 10k miles I have done another oil change and the sound just started up again.

I have the same oil consumption issues about a 1/2 quart every 1k-2kmiles.
The cost of Amsoil isn't really worth it in my opinion, I can get 2x the M1 at walmart/target for the cost of the Amsoil. I understand Redline/Amsoil are higher tier, better quality oils, but for my purpose (daily driver, spirited drives) it really doesn't make sense to spend more money on a product that gives me the same results.

That is correct... I read through the entire thread in my spare time. I had a lazy moment.
