Sounds like a scuffed bore/cylinder failure. I really cannot explain it but do a search and there are videos so you can compare sounds.

is it possible to pull the Pin out before installing? My supercharger and SC backplate are all in the way of the maintenance screw!!! Ugh.

Awesome thread, I fixed my "Clutch Buzz" like issue last night. So it was the tensioner after all!

I was a little confused at first but now after reading this more closely after you install the tensioner and bolt it in. You than using the maintance hole remove that little pin so the piston opens out? Correct? That was my biggest question how do you get the piston to come back out i guess i didnt read it correctly. Seems super easy now Thanks

Wow I've been away for a long time, but life does that sometimes..... For those of you switching to Royal Purple, you might as well stick with Mobil 1. I made that switch at my last oil change and changed the TCT at the same time because of the noise. Noise is back, the fix lasted 4-5k miles with Royal Purple. Spend the money and buy Amsoil! As soon as a new TCT shows up, I'm swapping it and doing another oil change its nothing but Amsoil.

Quick question about TCT noise - if it's an issue, would it be heard all the time?

When I changed my clutch out to a SPEC upgrade, the first time I drove the car I noticed a very loud rattling noise that I put off as 'clutch buzz' from that day. But a few months ago another member said "oh, you have a bit of TCT noise, may want to change that soon" and it's had me considering this as a possibility. Also, I saw somewhere in this thread or one like it where another member thought he had clutch buzz, then changed TCT and it when away...

On my car, a cold start I never hear the noise at all. When the engine is warm, I usually hear it, and HOT I always hear it. Also, after driving hard for a little while once things are good and hot, it's unmistakeable at lower reves and when decellerating Does that sound like a possible TCT issue?

Very likely to be the CCT (TCT)... Easy fix..
