is there a picture of the worm gear somewhere in this thread?
Maybe try reading the thread? It's on the second page. The worm gear is the 4th part from the right, between the skinny spring and the fat spring.

Just called honda care ...waiting for a return call . Every dealer i went to wants over $900...to do this job >telling me Honda says that they must do a motor inspection to see if other parts are needed if any. I told them this was reported to be a 20 min job , then went on to tell them about this post. I said all i want is to replace the tct , they told me to call honda WTF !!!!I love my S can someone change my TCT for me ...plz i dont want to do this myself. I dont think Honda will help me , so even though this job is easy i'd like to have someone who has done it before or knows even what i'm talkin about ...

Tell them that you just want a new TCT installed and that's what you'll pay for. If Honda wants them to do a full motor inspection, then tell them to have Honda pay for it. Seems simple enough.

If you have been through this forumn than you have heard about the sandblasted worm gear fix. If so i can save you a shit ton of money and have this done to one of the spare TCT's i have and install it for you. Let me know, i could even do this as soon as tomorrow afternoon before i head up to NY to visit some family.
