i have it all assembled but not quite sure on how to reload it. the ntn1 does not have a place for the threaded bolt on the rear cover. it has a slot that looks like it is for a flathead screwdriver, but i can't seem to turn it. if anyone has any idea i would appreciate it.

to reloaded it we used two guys and a clamp. Then twisted it to where the holes lined up and threaded a metal wire through.

It should turn and come out. Not sure why you're having trouble.

took my car to the local shop,...which i never like to do because of the problems they gave with my civic when i took it in when i had it. anyways, i told them i think my tct is going out cuz it makes a heat shield rattling/card in bike spokes sound for a few seconds upon startup especially on cold starts. First response is "ooooo well i dunno about that",.....then another tech comes out and says "i have never heard of that, the only problem we ever have with these motors is from people over reving".......instantly i was like "cool, guess i gotta take it to another deal"...............they always say that internet forums are not a credible source for diagnoising a problem,...well 3 hrs later i got a call back saying "uhhhhh well we are gonna have to order that tensioner."

Being right FTMFW!!!! along with being smarter than the "technicians" only because i read s2ki!!!

Any update on whether or not we need to be fixing the old TCT or replacing with a new one?

If we are to be fixing the old one, I was wondering, How would you go about putting the bitch back in since there is not pin to hold the bolt in like the new ones have? I know you need to seat the bolt first or you apply extensive pressure to your timing chain and can break it. any suggestions or shall i just pay 75$ and get the new one and switch to a better oil than Mobil 1 full synthetic?

I'm curious how many of you with failed TCTs use Mobil1?

I switched to it for one OCI and it caused my TCT to go bonkers. I decided to switch to SynPower and the TCT started to behave normally again. Not a single rattle since I went from M1 to SynPower.

I guess the M1 formula isnt' what it used to be.

I have 92K miles on my S2000 and :knock on wood: don't seem to have a problem with the TCT. Am I just really lucky or am I not hearing it?

I was thinking about replacing it for shits and giggles because its not too expensive and it would give me peace of mind...but it seems people replace it over and over. Maybe mine was made by some master Honda machinist ninja dude and I shouldn't fix it if it isn't broken?
