You guys buying new tensioners are wasting your money...

The only think you have to do is have the worm gear sand blasted and it will work good as new with no sound...

Mine has been flawless since I took it apart and sand blasted it here at work.

Are you Serious? I guess Porsche uses crapppy oil. Mobil1 is crap now i have heard it all
Please read the oil journals in the UTH section.

Mobil 1 is nothing but a mid grade and Amsoil and Redline are far superior.

Mobil 1 has been assoiciated with a large abbount of tensioner failures due to excessive wear which causes polishing of the worm gear.

Porsche's dont rev to 9K son.

I just do it here at work. Guess i'm lucky to have one here but my dad has one also..

Yes I also had a brand new one start to make noise in exactly one month after install.
I haven't had any problems with my new (original tensioner that I sandblasted the worm gear) along with running redline oil instead of mobil 1.

Maybe I should start selling modified tensioners for say 50 bucks plus your noisy one.

Put the parts together in the order that they're laid out in that picture.
