Timing chain position

After I installed the chain, cams and all... I turned the crank a few times to see if everything was still timed right. Turns out those black marked links on the chain go vague after a while. Every link has the same colour now.
FYI


Oh and btw, when I installed the idler gear, I made sure there was no play left in the chain. Then installed the TCT. It looked perfectly timed.
After turning the crank 720deg, and all the mark had to line up again, it was just a little bit off
Is this normal?

Make sure the cams are dead on with the white mark on the crank. If the crank is a hair off, is it like on this image?

Yeah something like that.

I just started the car. It sounds a bit tough, but it idles steady and doesn't give any CEL's or whatever.

I don't think that it would have helped if I moved the idler gear 1 tooth to the left, it probably would have resulted in the same difference as it now does on the right
