Default Timing chain off? help!

Working on my s2k atm and can't seem to get my engine to start and run. the engine would crank but die right after start up. there's also a bit of a bogging sound when it dies out.

Could this be my timing chain?
What are symptoms if your timing is off?
should this happen if your timing chain is off a tooth or two??
HELP PLEASE!

A tooth off it would still run by badly. Do you have all your vacuum, egr etc hoses connect. What you're describing sounds like a massive vacuum leak.

Easy question. Have you just replaced the timing chain? If not then no it's not off by 1 tooth.

You need to make sure the cam gears and timing sprocket line up perfectly.

Can anyone tell me how to aligned s2000 timing chains?
I need to verify where all markings should be. Pics would help a lot.

I had to readjust the tct.

The cam gears and timing sprocket do line up but on the opposite side of each other when I turn the crank shaft pulley to its mark.

To add to the post, if the crank doesn't line up with the cam gears you'll have to remove the cams. If the gear that the timing chain rides on is off, you'll have to pull the TCT and adjust it.

Cam gears cam wheel and block should all be aligned.

You're looking for a yellow notch on the crank pulley.

TDC: If it doesn't look like this.......it's wrong.
