Default tighting the axle/wheel hub

i was looking at the TSBs for the clicking/"grunting" rear end, and i saw that tightening the axle/wheel hub from 181 lb ft to 220 lb ft was included in that. My question is, as far as doing that, can i simply just re tighten the nut, or do i have to remove it, grease it, then tighten again?

You should remove, grease, then re-torque. That is how Billman did mine and a thousand other S2000s and never had a problem.

is there any trick to it? because i think a friend of mine screwed up the bearings on his crx back in the day by removing the axle nut. I tried looking through the 00-03 service manual but i didn't find anything that gave me a step by step as far as the procedure. I just dont wanna get started then do more harm than good

Not sure, it looks to me like Bill just removed it, greased it, then retorqued and marked the position of the nut.

I'd wait for someone else to chime in.

It's straightforward, as said above, remove, re grease (just oil I believe), re torque.

Did he put the car in the air first? Either that, or they were already done and he didn't know it.
