Jayson, i would advise purchasing new gaskets and replacing them, the top metal one "crushes" a little when you put it on so that it seals better. Also, the donut has a little coating on it its a white powdery looking coating. The donut gasket melts a little in place and is crushed into place. Also, remember to retighten it a couple times. Bolt it up, tighten it well, then go drive EASY for about 10 or 15 min, then hit some hard runs, and then let it cool off and tighten it again. Then every couple days you can retighten till eventualy you find that they stay tight, and then you should be good.
ausjesse, that sounds absolutely awful, probably sounds worse because of the cellphone camera. Im going to say, unbolt it, and pull it far enough over to look at the gasket, if you see burn marks or something, then your header could have a warped flange, and you can have it "decked" to smooth it back out, or you can try replacing the gasket and keeping it tightened properly. But it definitely sounds like an exhaust leak.
As per Bryan@berk - almost all, if not all, aftermarket headers are noisier than stock headers, means more valve noise, etc. But you also have to properly maintain it, IE, tightening regularly until its set down properly.

Aus, I would be checking valve clearence before the header. Might not be the case, but with the sound of that video if it is a valve you're close to some real issues.

call around, find somewhere that will use one of those cameras to look inside your cylinders, they can see if there is any damage. you can adjust a valve all day long, but if the valve is damaged or worn, it wont do any good...
