Hi guys,

anyone ever have a ticking noise in their motor ONLY when you give the car gas? My car has always had a tick from the intake side, but i assumed that had to do with the K&N intake i installed and didnt think much since Billman had done a valve adjustment. This tick started about 2 years ago.

The new tick comes under load as well, but it sounds like its right in front of me. So now i have 2 ticks..its odd.

Car runs fine, VTEC fine, no noticeable power loss, no CEL..

And whats very odd, if i put the car in neutral and rev the motor, even rev up high i hear nothing. it only when i give the car gas in gear and really floor it or im going up a hill..i know its not me because my son hears it too..

Sounds like possible detonation. What fuel OCT you using? Any engine mods?

I have a ticking noise come and go, more like a fluttering when accelerating. I can't figure out what it is or where it comes from or make it happen on command. I've noticed if the ambient temperature is warm it doesn't do it as much...

It's not a TCT and doesn't sound like valves and not pinging
