Ticking noise during idle

I just want to add to this:
I have the same issue.
Ticking only heard at idle and when the air temp is cold [maybe 40's or below].
This is the first time I've driven my car in the winter [cold weather] so I've noticed it now that we've had temps in the 30' and 20's in Atlanta.
Even when my engine is fully warmed up the ticking is still there so it is not piston slap.
Car seems 100% fine apart from the ticking at idle on cold days.
2006 with about 45,000 miles.
Valve adjustment last done around 34,000.

Ticking noise issue
this was discussed a couple of years ago on this forum. It was kinda decided that the noise was cause by the exhaust system being comprised of different metals which expand and shrink at various temperatures differently. I have the same problem especially loud when cars are stopped on both sides of my car at lights.

Just want to add that I have the same exact issue and I cannot figure it out either. TCT has been replaced and valves have been adjusted. Only occurs when the motor is warm.
Any resolution that was found would be great to share.

Symptoms: tapping noise - only at idle, only after the engine is warmed up, and intermittent. Some days I don't hear it at all. Also seems to be only at low-ish idle (800-900rpm). If the car is idling at 1K, there is no noise; if the idle dips slightly, the noise becomes pronounced.
Other than this intermittent noise, the car runs perfect. What gives?

Any more updates?
Any updates on the ticking noise? Cold weather here, just changed the tct with a billmans and adjusted my valves which were tight and now I have a tapping sound at idle, also only audible in the cabin which goes away with a slight change in rpm.
I'd also like to state that I had zero noises prior, all my work was preventative maintenance.

Same Noise
Reading and watching this thread looks like no one figured out the problem.
Mad Pup's video is the noise I'm experiencing. It's intermittent and the car feels fine otherwise, but its annoying idle when it does come on.
