he's been the 'unofficial' mod around here for a while. congrats on the whole official thing. now, i'm going to post all kinds of hate and discontent just so i can keep him busy deleting bad, mean, and pointless posts.

Actually that's a bit of a fear. There are real limits on what you can and can't say when you're a moderator and I think we might miss some of X's 'insightful comments'.
I'm also worried the extra load could detract from his ability to provide the most concise and indepth UTH content.
That said, I can't think of anyone more suited to the job.

Thanks for the kind words of support.
Aus, it was with some reluctance and hesitation that I accepted this appointment. Some members were pushing for this about a year ago and I kinda let is slide, hoping noone would pay attention. Heck, I didn't even want the Community Organizer position for our regional forum but HondaGal can be very persuasive. Like you said, I'm used to shooting at the hip with both barrels. Now, I feel like I have to "behave" myself and act more dignified. It was a LOT of fun "misbehaving". I really enjoyed getting "down" into the trenches where some of the unpleasant people reside.
I quite enjoyed riding some of those "Shetland Ponies" from time to time. I feel responsible (and will take the credit, or blame, if you will) for helping to rid this forum of several of these questionable characters. I'm afraid my riding days are over.
