Default Thrown Rod 26k mi

Yah I have a 00' s2000 w/ 26k mi on it, it wouldnt start yesterday so I checked the standard stuff couldnt get it working, called my cingular roadside assitance and before we towed it I told the dude it wouldnt crank over, though it was earlier in the day it just wouldnt catch and might I mentioned after turning it over for 15 seconds
I smelled the exhuast and it smelled like gasoline so it sounded like a problem with spark. the tow dude asked if I wanted to jump it. so we tried and it kinda almost started it was almost catching but it wanted to die, and so it did more so than i thought, PING CRACK. look under the car and oil pouring out of the motor. sad sight. a chunk of the oil pan on the ground. I have only had the car 2 months and I have changed to mobil syn oil. WHAT HAPPENED? thanks oh yeah, the oil was kinda milky and seemed to have water in it tohugh it could have been rain water from the other night.

It could be coolant too. Has the engine overheated at all?

Oil, water, or fuel filled the cylinder.

Sounds like a typical hydro-locked engine failure. Cold air intakes are the most likely cause. Fluids don't compress in a sealed cylinder, broken rods are the end result.

Moving to UTH.

I never have driven in the rain, except maybe a couple months ago, how much water would it take to do that anyway?

It doesnt matter if you have driven in the rain, If you car has seen any water the AEM is notorious for filling with water, its happened to me twice, luckily i didnt throw a rod, but still scary enough to have me looking for a new intake
