Thoughts on Synthetic Lubricants???

I know you can extend the milage when using synthetics but Im so carefull with "baby" (that's what I call my S2000) I dont mind spending the extra bucks every 2500 miles. I know everybody's going to say I'm wasting my money. but I do it for love. LOL

A friend of mine who owns a Honda Odyssey claims that you will void your warranty if you don't have an authorised Honda Service perform the oil change. Has anyone heard of this before?

Not if the oil change is done correctly and you have the paperwork to prove it was changed.

That being said if you get a cheap filter from one of these quick lube places and it fails Honda is not going to be liable for the engine failure that will result. Also if you don't have a new crush washer installed (these quick lube places never change them), and the oil plug backs out and you lose your oil and the engine blows you are on your own.

For the couple of bucks you might save it is not worth going to these places. Use only Honda filters.

My Honda dealer gave me free oil and filters for the first 36,000 miles and they use synthetic oil in the S2000's. The only charge is for labor.
