Default those of you with the DIY catch can...

For those of you who have made the DIY catch can did you notice that there is a hole on the bottom of the catch can? I circled it in red in my picture. It pretty much acts as a breather (and it doesnt leak oil even though the hole is on the bottom) But is it bad that it has this hole is there in the first place? When the car is on i can hear it sucking air in from the hole, if i plug it with my finger i notice the idle drop slightly. Just wanted to get other peoples opinion before i plug it up.

Plug it.

It causes a slight vacuum leak if you do not.

yeah, definitely plug it. My setup leaked as well and only lasted about 8 months before the plastic part cracked. It's not designed for the chemicals seen from the motor.

I've had mine for a year and a half - no problems yet. I sealed that with a rubber plug full of silicone sealant.
