Default For those with the Comptech CAI

The Comptech CAI fits much better if you simply move the wiring harness that sits on top of the rear mounting bracket to underneath that bracket. Recently, I and two other local guys installed these, they all went on much easier with that change. I fought with my box for an hour and couldn't get all three bolts to fit until I moved that wiring harness.

Thanks for the info, I'll be installing mine soon. Any pictures or small write up or is this pretty straight forward?

Notice I also used a portion of that 1/2" breather tube to protect the wiring harness .

One more trick. Use a tiny bit of the fuel line as a washer on CF cover screws. The screws won't dig into the CF when you install them and leave scratches

You can tighten them down more than this.

I did that with mine when I put it in. Even with the box all the way down, sitting on the framerail, the CF lid still rubs on the hood insulation. Really pisses me off, I knew of the rubbing, and spent extra time getting the box all the way down. I even put in a recessed hood insulation holding plug, and the insulation itself still blems the CF.

Do you have the older style airbox that sits higher?

Yes If you mount it all the way down so it's touching the crossmember, and remove the hood insul, it won't rub.

I am using thin felt pads to reduce this problem.
