Third Brake Light
Anyone know which fuse the 3rd brake light is linked to? I just did an AP2 tail conversion. One of the fuses blew out (the 10 amp one). I replaced it and everything works except this brake light on the trunk. I hope its not wired with the spare sockets that I did not use. Not sure.

So I had my co-worker check the voltage of the brake light cable and the trunk cable and both have no juice out of either. I did check all the other fuses under the dash and the one that controls the light (#46, 15 amp, under the hood). The trunk release has been out for a while which makes me wonder if the trunk brake light went out at the same time. Any suggestions?

According to my Helms manual the fuse should be #47 [15 amps] NOT #46.
According to the circuit diagram, for a MY2002, if the other two BRAKE lights are working the problem should be in the white/black wire leading to the lamp, the lamp itself, or the black ground wire from the lamp. There is no other fuse indicated on the diagram for that circuit.
All the TAIL lights are controlled by fuse #23 [10amp, 5th one from top on right side of main fuse box under the drivers side dash].
Hope this helps.

Ok I checked all three in the area where 46 was (there were 3 in a row). None of them were blown. The two other brake lights work. As mentioned I did an AP2 tail swap. I completed the wiring portion last night, but I looked back on a security camera I own and the third brake light was out prior to my swap. It was nothing I caused. I has to be a wire because I hooked it up to a voltage meter and there was no juice.
I replaced number 23 because it blew last night. Didn't help the 3rd light.
Thanks for looking that up.

I'm 99.999% certain you know this but I'm just making sure you know: The light on the trunk only goes on when the brakes are applied.

It shouldn't ..... fuse #23 isn't in the BRAKE light circuit.
