i'm stumped... i hope its the driveshaft...then axles if not the driveshaft..then diff if not the axles..

but i've never got around to replacing my own diff... guess it'll be my first =/

It's easy to do, you can also try to replace the driveshaft while you at it it's only another 6 bolts but that is up to you. since you have a few laying around.

drain the diff fluid and see if there any metal in it....

but before you do all that, try to replicate the noise again, then start changing the variables:

in gear/not in gear
clutch in or clutch out
forward/reverse
turn left/right
bounce the car in all four corners

then raise the car and start looking under

yea i know...

i've dont that actually minus the diff fluid drain..

i ran it foward then backwards and i swear it felt like the axle was broke..

how possible that is, i have NO clue. i've never actually seen a broken axle.. meaning.. to the point where it would flop or something...

i'm assuming that the diff wasnt properly broken in since it was new.....a few people driven it kinda hard i suppose, it started making its way loose, then the single clunk started when starting to go forward or reverse and i'm assuming that is the loose pinion trying to get in between the gears and being on top of the tooth then sliding into place, then finally when trying to back up on that hard core hill.. it bit a tooth and broke one off...
