Think I bent a Valve :(
#12
It really depends. I had all my intake cams and two exhaust valves bent before because of cams. But they were all bent and that's it. It cost me about 500ish to get it fixed. But if ur engine grenaded which basically means your valves bent then hit the piston again the the tip of the valve broke off the hit the piston and was shoved into the head along with some other metal fragments. Then that would be a whole lot of money. Then again, u really don't want to be looking for s2000 engines on eBay. They could all be in bad condition. I had a friend who bought engineS off eBay bc he blew his block and they were all in terrible condition. All of them had something warped and none of them ran. He thought he could save a few. Anyways if u do buy a new engine buy one here on s2ki.

Agree'd. From what it sounds like you will be better off buying a whole new engine, but it depends on the extent of the damage. There are people parting out s2000's all the time here, just post in the WTB section for a complete ap1 engine in good condition and I bet you can find one.

If no valves broke, just put a used head on it and be done. I have plenty of them.
Any blemishs in the pistons can be sanded off by hand and it will be 100% fine.

An s2k can go from 5th to 2nd at cruising speed no problem. How fast were you going?

Depends what gear. At 80 mph 1-2-3 would blow. Fourth gear can take it. At 90 mph 1-2-3-4 would all blow. And u shouldn't be going 90 in the first place.
Edit. 3rd can handle 80 and fourth has no problem with 90. So. 1-2 would blow at 80 and 1-2-3 would blow at 90. I raised the rev limiter to 8500 with stock gearing and I'm pretty sure third hit almost 81. Thanks for the correction dagle.
