You're running rich(i.e. the P0172) that could cause the misfire and hesitation. Changing the plugs might make the problem appear to go away but if you don't figure out why you are running rich it's just going to come back. Diagnose the P0172 and I'd bet that would resolve your issue.

My guess is that a test pipe could make it run rich.

Ok...you shouldn't be allowed to post anymore.

Test pipes allow MORE flow due to the decreased restriction in the exhaust. That means air should be entering the intake and exiting the exhaust at a greater rate due to the decreased restriction. More air means more O2 for the same amount of fuel injected into the cylinders. That means less restriction would cause you to run lean...not rich.

Don't confuse the CEL's you get from running a test pipe for running rich. Those are cause because the O2 sensor is in a bung in direct line of fire of pure exhaust gases. Our factory O2 sensors are usually in the catalytic converter which filters excess fuel. When you eliminate that with the TP then you get a CEL saying you're running too rich.

Yeah, your pics aren't so good. I would like to see the electrode but it's too blurry. If the electrode is not worn away at all, there's no white on the plug, and you have a nice black ring around the edges of the plug then you should be in good shape. More black means you are running more rich. Less black means you are running closer to stoich. White means you are running lean and worn electrodes are a sign of detonation and mean you should stop driving the car and get to a professional who can help you.

Good luck!

BTW, P0172 is cuz you're factory O2 thinks you're running rich cuz of the TP. The solution is to get a couple spark plug defoulers from Autozone and use them to back your O2 sensor out of the TP an inch or two. That will keep the O2 sensor from sensing the direct stream of fuel coming through the exhaust due to a lack of the catalytic converter. GL!

I though I mentioned that i put the cat back on. I will get CLEARER pics tomorrow. I got home too late today to get the plugs out. I might end up taking it to honda. Which I don't want but i need the car fixed ASAP. I start a new job in 2 weeks...
