Is there a torque value for the oil filter?
Does anyone know if there is a torque value for the S2000's oil filter when installing it? I know that the drain plug should be torqued to 33 ft/lbs, what about the oil filter?
Thanks.
Thanks.

1. Clean the oil filter seating surface on the engine.
2. Lightly oil the sealing gasket on the filter.
3. Screw the filter onto the engine so that the filter gasket just contacts the seat.
4. Tighten the filter another 3/4 turn
You're good to go.

EDIT: I just noticed you have an 06, torque spec on oil drain bolt hasn't changed has it? Anyone? It is 29 ft-lb up to MY 03 at least, I checked two different revisions of the Helms. I think it's printed in the MY 03 owners manual as well.
Also, if you have purchased the correct oil filter 15400-PCX-004 the directions and torque specs (and 7/8 of turn) are printed on the side of the filter itself (even tiny little illustrations). The torque spec is given in N~m though, and the drain bolt spec isn't there. I guess I don't really know if it is like this on all of them, but it is on the one I have sitting here. Just trying to make sure you got the right oil filter. Some dealer are notorious for selling the wrong OEM oil filters to S2000 owners.

That's the one I put on 15400-PCX-004. And my manual on my 2006 does list 33 ft/lbs for the oil drain bolt.
Thanks.
Thanks.
Thanks for the reply and info.

There's a typo in one of the manuals. Go to 30 ft-lbs and call it a day.
Owner manual = 33ft-lbs.
Service manual = 29ft-lbs.
I wonder if the later Helms manuals have 33ft-lbs. printed in them. The only other thing I could think of is that the owners manual assumes that you're not replacing the crush washer on the drain bolt.
EDIT: Must be typo. I re-checked the owners manual and it also say's to replace the washer.
