Personally I don't know about the oil, but I know the JDM Type-R and Type-S cars have a special oil filter made by the company called * Hamp*
Basically its a green color and the others use the blue oil filter..

As near as I can tell the HAMP product line is simply designed to offer resellers an official Honda product, and it is not clear that it is anything different than the genuine Honda part (except color and branding). I would bet the cars come from the factory with the blue part.

Actually that was meant for people who sometimes exactly don't know what to buy or even know what they're buying. Sorry but, if you have never used it ... Don't make stupid comments like that.

"Advertising touts big differences in performance among motor oils, but when we tested name-brand oils in taxicabs four years ago, driving each cab 60,000 miles, all the brands worked about the same--very well. We've also found no advantage in using oil additives such as STP or Slick 50."

Had to laugh at you cab reference B-Man . I travel to DC a lot on FAA and NTSB affairs. Over the years I have come to learn the system. Only one cab co. is allowed to service Washington Dulles. When limos drop off they cannot pick up at Dulles. I now head to the arrival area sporting a 50 dollar bill....inevitably I can get a nice limo to downtown for 50. On the way home I always just catch a cab. I have become acostumed to asking cabbies about mileage.......most are 300,000 miles . My last trip was with this Iraqi with 490,000 on his car (he was awaiting his new Jeep Cherokee he had saved for and was really bummed when I advised him of the Liberty). To make a long story short.....it seems all the cabbies use Royal Purple for some reason? As a Mobil 1 fan I don't know if it's a local phenom or what. If my Jeep had 500K on it I wouldn't even try to drive it to the store.......
