I bought my MY02 in the beginning of the summer with ~51k miles and I can't find in the service records if/when the coolant was last flushed. Does anyone have an edu? I searched and got nothing...all I know is I need to use the Honda Type-II premixed coolant.

I know there are DIY threads with photos on here somewhere; be sure to search all forums.

Coolant drain and fill is very simple:
Open petcock on bottom of radiator and drain coolant into catchcan (stuff is very bad on environment, and will kill animals, so dispose of properly)
Open engine block coolant plug to drain coolant in engine
Flush/rinse (ideally using distilled water)
Close petcock, replace engine block plug
Fill with Honda coolant

hey mike... nice info. how do you flush? and where is the engine block coolant drain located? and how much do you fill the coolant to?

You need to turn the heater dial all the way to "hot" to drain the coolant out of the heater core. You also cannot, and I repeat CANNOT forget to bleed the air out of the coolant system. This is done by two bleeder screw locations: one at the back of the engine bay and the other on the front. Forget to do this and watch your engine coolant temp rise and leave you wondering what you did wrong.

I know where the bleeder valve is on the front of the engine, where is the one in the rear?

Its a black rubber piece along the rear firewall.
