Default Are there airbag sensors behind the front bumper?

I need to get my airbag light cleared and when I tried to do it at the dealer they asked if I fixed the front airbag sensors. I didn't see anything there though. I asked two dealers and they both say the same thing. Any idea where the sensors are at at?

I dont see anything in this picture

I've removed the front bumper numerous times but don't recall seeing any sensors. I'll look in the Helms when I get home. I'm curious about this as well.

From what I know, there are no airbag sensors in the bumbers. The airbags deploy when the airbag ECU placed in the dash (behind the radio) registers a strong deceleration due to the collision... but I might be wrong.

I agree, I don't think there's any sensors, just the brain to tell the bags and seatbelts when to fire. I had the same thing w/ my car: airbag light on. The stealership wanted $1000 to fix it and put in a new brain. I got one from a wreck and fixed it myself in 30 minutes for $100.
You should consider doing it yourself once they troubleshoot it and tell you what the problem is.
I'm sure people will flame me and say it's too dangerous and you'll end up deploying your airbag, but as long as you follow the manual I don't think it's dangerous at all.

There are no sensors behind the bumper (for sure). To my knowledge there are four inertia sensor in the car which will trip airbag deployment. Two of these are in the seats located just below the headreast (they plug into the back two wires in your photo which is a wiring harnes diagram--Left and Right). These two actually monitor your seat belt. Two more are located under the dash on the drivers and passengers sides in the areas above the left legs. These plu into the two main front "electrical trunks" shown in your diagram. A Honda Dealer most likely won't just clear this DTC due to laiblity reasons. Find someone with a PGM Scan tool or other invasive diagnostic device and have them clear the code for you. They most likely won't know it's a safety related code.....which all SRS DTC's are classified as.

Utah

P.S. Autozone, Pep Boys, etc. have such invasive tools available and will perform this for a small fee (pulling codes is usually free).
