Thanks Legal Bill and XViper!
Yesterday I just installed my new Neuspeed exhaust with the help of the excellent writeup on removing your stock exhaust by Legal Bill and XViper. To my amazement, the job only took 3 hours from start to cleanup. Another testimony to the benefits of the DIY threads ! Thanks guys!
Some tips that worked:
1. Wrapped the exhaust tips on the stock exhaust with some old rags before removal.
2. Used PB blaster - this stuff really works!
3. Used soapy water and an old nylon brush to lubricate (and clean) the rubber hangers prior to removal from the car hangers.
4. Left the 4 rear rubber hangers on the stock exhaust when it was removed, which assured that they would not be lost or mixed up and made for an easy transfer to the new exhaust. The hanger by the resonator remained on the car.
Thanks again!
