Test pipe leAk help (BERK TP)
Hi all. I just installed a new berk 63mm test pipe. Car has stock exhaust manifold with an hks ssm exhaust if that makes any difference.
I have a brand new donut gasket and spring bolts and springs. Also used brand new triangle gasket and hardware.
Everything bolted on fine but as you can see in the pic below that the spring bolts are not fully compressed like they are suppose to.
Not sure what else I can do but I think it's a defective test pipe. Anyone else has a similar issue?
*edit - leak is between tp and header.

May be a dumb question, but have you tried putting the TP on the other way. Meaning rotate it 180 so you're basically swapping the bolts to the other hole. It might help in getting more tension on the springs. I don't know how the rest of the TP is shaped though.

Anyway I removed it and installed my hfc back and bam!, no more leak.

here is a pic of the new donut gasket.
If you look at these pics, look at the 2 bolt flange on the left. The top TP is the 63mm and the bottom is the 70mm. I've had the 70mm for a few years now and is also a Berk TP. But if you look at the flange, the 70mm has a much robust flange. Not sure if that has anything to do with it but it was just an observation.

I was looking at my OEM cat and comparing it to the 63mm TP that has an exhaust leak.
Look at the pictures below and compare how the donut gasket sits from the OEM cat to the TP. Its almost flush on the test pipe and on the OEM cat, it sticks out a good amount. I am wondering that is contributing to my exhaust leak.
Anyone has a Berk 63mm TP laying around and an OEM gasket to compare to mine?
