Test pipe install
Hey guys, I need help regarding the test pipe I installed last night. I currently have Spugen TI Double exhaust, if that matters but the install went smoothly. After the install, I took my car for a drive and began noticing rattles while idling. I checked again from where the bolts are and tighten them a bit more. I still did not notice any change while idling, still rattling.....
Do you guys have any idea what's causing this, or a remedy for it?
Thanks,
Rod

Jack up the car, go under there and start shaking the system (or thump it with the palm of your hand) from front to back to see if you can reproduce the sound.

I had the same problem with my first test pipe. The rear of the test pipe that connects to the exhaust was sitting too close to the underside of the car and would hit it at idle. After things warmed up (expanded), the noise (hitting) would stop. I finally went underneath and reconnected the pipe and things fit better. No more hitting fo the pipe against the underside of the car.

im 99% its your o2 sensor. i had the same problem. make sure you tighten it really tight, both o2 sensor that connects to the metal piece, and the metal piece that connects to the test pipe.
it may come loose again after some driving if you dont tighten it tight enough.
if all else fails and you still have the rattling, get some thread lock from home depot. it'll work like a charm.

Hmmm. when i installed my spugen exhaust and test pipe i had a crazy rattle cuz the pipe would move rub a heatshield underneath the car...the place doing the install removed it for me (don't think i needed it newayz haha). Haven't had a problem since it was done (5 months ago). Make sure the pipe isn't touching nething (i'm sure u already did).
