I just noticed this noise Sunday. There was always a bit of a tapping/ticking, and I could hear it reflecting off of cars or barricades as I passed by, but now its gotten louder. The noise can't really be heard at idle but once I bring the RPMs up to 2.5-3k I can hear it. It seems to get louder and faster as the RPMs go up. The car has almost 96k miles, bought it with 56k, my last valve adjustment was about 15-20k miles ago. I've never replaced the TCT, I don't think it sounds like the "card in spokes" sound I've heard on other videos but I could be wrong. If anyone could tell me if it sounds like somethings wrong or if I'm just hearing things, I'd appreciate it. I only have my phone to record with so the sound quality isn't the greatest

I'm hearing the same thing in my car, especially the tapping and ticking bouncing off of barricades and walls.

I'll may end up taking it to a mechanic to have somebody ride along and hear it.

I took a look at your thread, it sounds similar to mine but yours seems to be even louder. Let me know what happens.

As for anyone else, any opinions?

I forgot to add, sometimes on cold starts I get this high pitched rattle right after starting the engine, lasts less than a second. I don't think that's normal, ideas?

Bump, anyone? I'm a little paranoid a valve might drop or something.

I get the high pitched sound occasionally upon starting. Kinda sounds like maybe its something in the starter. Something that spins when you engage it and it gets a little off balance or something and squeals for a second.
