My friend and I were talking about this since he's a big hydrocracking nerd (Chem Engineer). He said that a number of oil companies modified their formula a few years back and that's probably why we're seeing wear or pressure issues in the tensioner now.

Just replaced a tensioner less than 1k miles ago and now I have the noise again. I bought mine from hard top guy and it had the "1" marked on the back. Anyone know if the "2" makes any difference?
