TCT replacement
I'm about to reinstall my TCTand have just retracted the plunger and have managed to screw it back in and have the pin secure it into location. I'm taking a look at the top of the plunger and notice that the top of the plunger shaft there are two notches on either side. Do I need to have this oriented a certain way when I pull that pin out through the service hole onn the side of the block?

You can't control the orientation of the plunger when it pops out.
IMO those flat spots on the plunger are used when the tensioner is assembled in the factory, to either keep the plunger from turning or turn it during assembly.
IOW, it doesn't matter.
