tct question
ok, so i was tooling around with my motor today and i realized that i was missing a piece of my TCT. i have no idea where it went or how long i've been running the car without it, but if you look at the diagram below, it's the second component from the right between the piston and the small diameter spring. my question is, is there a way to order just that piece, or is there something i can buy at a hardware store that will serve the same purpose of keeping the spring aligned in the piston? also, how dangerous is it to run the car without it for the time being?

I doubt you'll find anything at a hardware store that's a tool steel pin, it's very strong.

Was there a previous owner of your car ? If so they assembled it without the pin, it is not likely that it could fall out of place. Good to see a fellow member offering one to you, that is great.

I would not run it until the TCT is squared away. Kudos to V6 Donut for offering to take the time to mail the extra pin.
Sooner or later the OEM ones will fail. You may consider spending the time and money on a Billman TCT. I did it preemptively around 45K miles. Some other people have reported various issues with after market TCTs but no one, no one, has had an issue with Billman's to my knowledge. I like his engineering approach to the issue as well.
