I'm not so sure the weiner completly prevents doning.

Friend of mine replaced the OEM mufflers only and still has the same drone as I do with a cat back.

The helmholtz filter is tuned specifically for the stock exhaust. Altering the configuration of the exhaust will reduce its effect.

Diagrams from various year manuals show the weiner on the later models but not on the earlier ones, but if there is one on your '00 there is no arguing with that :-)

Maybe we're talking about something different when we say "weiner". Is it the thing I've circled in this page out of my '00 Helm? If it is, I can tell you that I have my stock exhaust sitting in my basement and it definately has this weiner.

I have MY00,built somewhere in 1999,and I have the "weiner"too.It is standard on all model years.

Just in case anyone is interested, which at this point I doubt, here is the thread where I got the misinformation about some MY's not having weiners (poor babies) :-)
