Default Taking out the resonator?

Hey, I've been told that if I take out the resonator it would provide a little better airflow as well as giving the exhaust a little more aggressive sound. Is this true? If so, the sound won't be like bees in a can or be too loud, will it?

Do you mean the straight pipe has small perforations in it? If so, would it make a difference in sound if the muffler shop simply cut the same size piping to replace the resonator because then the pipe wouldn't have any perforations. I really want the sound that the 350Z has...That's one of the main reasons why I like them so much =)

Thanks for the input

This is hygieneboy, not nole 99 . They changed s2ki and now I can't share my brother's computer, there's no way to login or out now? WTF? The resonator feels about five pounds! That alone with improve your 1/4 mile times by .0000005678 seconds at least!

haha yah I agree...it'll improve your quartermile times for sure!

Oh, and I like the new sound! It does sound quite similar to the 350Z/G35....a deeper tone without being anywhere near as loud as an exhaust. Very nice for daily driving.

I definitely recommend this little mod for those who don't want the loudness that an aftermarket exhaust would provide.

i took out mine and just plugged up the hole. the exhaust sounds more aggressive above 6k rpm, at low rpm, there is no difference. i dont think there is any difference in power.
