taking out AEM filter cone tomorrow to clean...help
It's been almost a year since I installed the AEM CAI. Drove the car until Oct, then put it away for the winter. Since the installation, I have not clean the AEM filter cone yet.
I was in my garage just now poking around, trying to find the AEM CAI box which has the instructions sheets but I can't find the box
The AEM CAI install was done together with my euro headlights so the front bumper was taken off. Does anyone have any links on how to take out the aem cai without removing the front bumper?
I assumed I just have to take off the right front tire, my oem front chin spoiler, and some plastic panels? Anything else?

Jack up that side of the car and undo the fasteners underneath on that corner of the plastic belly pan. Then, carefully bend the plastic tray down and back and you can access the filter from below. It would be best to do it when the temps are warm to hot so the plastic will bend better.
Do you have the cleaning kit for doing the filter?

whoa... i try to clean my air filter every other oil change... maybe you should think about cleaning more than just annually.
Listen to xviper and buy yourself the k&n cleaning kit for ~$10. The cleaning process is a lot easier then you'd think.

The cleaning interval is dependent upon how much you drive the car and in how dusty (dirty) an environment you drive. I drive my car about 10K MILES a year and I clean it annually.
Keep in mind that it has been said by those in the know about K&Ns (it might have even been K&N) that these filters actually perform better in terms of filtration when they are slightly dirty.
