Please don't mis-understand me. I am not going to launch her on a daily basis. I will primarily be autocrossing/road racing her and launching isn't involved. However, I will take her to the track (drag racing) every couple months or so and obviously launching days come into play. So, every once in a while, I will want to practice launching to prepare myself for upcoming events.

Regarding the "sound" when the VTEC engages...it is relatively quiet. I am sure it gets louder with I/H/E. My K20A2 with I/RH/E sounds down-right MEAN when the VTEC engages.

If you can manage to shift after a couple of flashes your golden. If you wait too long you will find yourself jerking vigorously due to the cut off.

Most of the time I just shift at redline but on a few occasions I've let it blink.
