Default T-stat. replacement Q

Is there such a thing and if so can it be reused or does it need to be replaced when you swap out t-stats?

There is a rubber gasket. The book says to replace it, but I have no first-hand experience here.

Its a nice, thick o-ring gasket. As long you don't damage it while doing the install, it can be reused.

A new thermostat should come with a new gasket. The gasket has "keys" that allow it to be installed 1 way only. As long as you don't tear up the old one, you'll be able to reuse it. Moved to UTH as well.

If the gasket is still soft and flexable it can be reused.
