Default Synthetic oil changes.

I'm new in these forums, and I was just wondering how often should you get an oil change if you use full synthetic oil. Is it every 3000 miles like regular motor oil? Thanks in advance.

If you drive normally you should change it every 3000-5000miles. If you track, you should change it after each session.

you can also have a sample tested, [UOA] and see how much life is left in your oil. or just change at 3-5k

Yeah, I'd say a little over 3k for syn, 3k max for non-syn....

You can easily go 5k miles on a full synthetic(Redline, Mobil 1, Amsoil, Motul, etc.).

If you're not convinced get a UOA done at 3,000 and see how much life is left in your oil.

Are you serious?

That would mean doing 4-5 complete oil changes for each day I spend at the track!

I've followed a 3-4k mile OCI on the two cars that I've run on the track (S2000 and Miata). That usually includes 2 track events per oil change.

I'm sure he is talking about changing the oil after each event. At the end of the day when it's all said and done.

Amsoil ATM 10W30 and i run it for one full season. I drive about 5500miles a year, that includes autocrossing and lapping days.....I change the oil filter only (leave the oil) in between.
