so..... any updates on the consumption after switching? Mine is pretty bad too. Like 1/2 litre every 400 miles.

I've used Amsoil ATM 10w30 in my AP1 for the last 10k miles, and burned it at a rate of 1500 miles per quart.

On my last oil change I switched to Motul 8100 5w30 and so far haven't burned any over 1200 miles. I'll report back if the brand change has reduced/eliminated my oil consumption.
Just an update for those who may be interested:

It's now been 1500 miles since I switched to Motul 8100 5w30. My consumption has dropped in half, to 0.5 quarts. Don't know why, but I'm happy. I can certainly live with a quart every 3000 miles.

Again,

Amsoil ATM 10w30: 1 qt per 1500 miles
Motul 8100 5w30: 0.5 qt per 1500 miles

Just one more data point is all.

I got my oil change done @ Evasive. They use Motul. They do carry 5w40, not sure about 10w30.

I checked ebay, and West Covina Nissan sells 5L (5.2qt) jugs for $36, and you can pick up in-store to avoid shipping charges.

Its normal for AP1s to consume a lot of oil during hard use on the street and track. Stay w/ synthetic and get an good quality, internally baffled oil catch can.
what does the catch can do to help with oil consumption? my car too burns quite a bit of oil.
