You guys are killin' me!
Cyclon36: My first concern would be getting the car to pass emissions. At least in Cali, I think you are always supposed to swap in a motor of the same year or newer.
Also, I would much sooner spend my money on boost.

honestly, not to rip on you, this is the most asinine post ive ever seen.
people pay thousands of dollars, to go throuh the trouble to buy any number of stroker kits available to have more displacement. toda with 2.2,2.3 and now 2377 cc, 2.4 stroker kits. and inline pros 2.5 liter. why in the hell would you wanna go smaller? unless you were running huge boost or nitrous, in which case im a small motor fan. please do tell me why you would retrofit your car? im sure the nearest ap1 guy would LOVE to have your motor. 9 k isnt all that special, sounds cool, but when you get beat by the guy your racing who has the larger engine, well, it wasnt worth it now was it.
search google video (beta) and just put in s2000, watch the honda s2000 tuned track battle. listen to J's car with the F22. and the other 2 with F20's youll be convinced instantly. other than the fact that he downshifts the car too far, and spits a piston out the side, the car runs sick. lates

I'll agree the J's car is badass, but they're at a level of tuning I probably will never reach for money and reliability reasons.

I too would like to run the AP1 motor in the AP2 car, along with the dash and ECU. For me, I don't care to beat anyone in a race, although I may. It's all about the fun to drive factor. I've driven the AP2. It's boring and feels slow with out the 9k (although it's not).
I just did a 2.2 swap this week. He'll be going to 9k
