swapped a my08 motor in my07 and wont start
I am using the my07 ecu along with my08 engine harness and engine. My my07 engine harness was hacked up when it was stolen. The only fuse that was blown was the fuel pump and I put about 2 gallons worth of gas into the car to see if it would start.
Story behind the car is a it is a theft recover and the intake mani and random stuff was stolen and they cut the engine harness. So I bought a my08 that was hit in the rear and swapped the motor in.
I hear the pump kick on and sounds like its pressurizing but it just cranks and wont fire off. Does the blink code method work for these cars? I am getting 7 long blinks 11 long blinks and 3 short I believe.
I could not find any info on the codes anywhere, do I need a n obd2 scanner? To top it off I lost my helms......

so what car is it in? sounds like an immobilizer problem to me
make sure you have the ignition lock cylinder, key, and ECU all in correspondence. the car will only start if the key's immobilizer code matches that of the immobilizer unit and the ECU IIRC.

Car is 2007 ecu is from the 2007 and the lock cylinder is the stock 2007. I have all of the above abailable in 2008 also. I can hear the fuel pump come on and the green key goes away and does not flash.

When I get off today I am going to swap to the 2008 ecu and key. I found my helms and they say I can take a key blank and attach it to my immobilzer key and get it to transpond the code. I am also going to grab my obdII scanner and see what codes I get.

Check to make sure the ground at the back of the head is in place. That is the most common issue with a non starting engine after a swap or head removal.

If all the electronics (ecu, immobilizer, and key) are from the '07, I doubt that the immobilizer is your problem.
With 2007 ecu key and lock cylinder I get no green key and the pump comes on for fuel and I get it at the rail. It will not start and instantly get the 2 codes.
Here are the 2 codes I am getting from the obdII scanner
U0170 lost comm with throttle control module
p0498 Evap emission vent vlv/sol malf circuit low.
Does any one have the 2007 and 2008 ecu pin outs? Or either of the helms they could scan for me?
I never pulled the wiring from the motor so I didn't pull any grounds.
Can they reprogram the 2008 ecu to my 2007 key? I would have to tow it into honda.
They were all boggled as to why I would swap in a newer motor.. After they heard of the hacked wiring and mess of an engine bay I had they understood yet would not help me with out a 95+ dollar diagnostic fee.
