Hi,

First off, if there are any DIY threads of springs/coilovers installations, please direct me to them, because I couldn't find any with searching.

Currently I'm working on the front removal of the whole strut components, yet the lower arm would not drop down after I've removed all the connecting bolts to it. Next thing I'll try is pounding on it with a rubber hammer to drop it down.

If you could help by giving me advice or directing me to some installation threads, I'll appreciate it a whole bunch. Thanks a lot!

Did you separate the lower ball joint from the knuckle?

Don't separate the ball joint. Just remove the two bolts holding the upper A-arm to the wall, and also make sure you detach the swaybar endlink. For extra range of movement you can also detach the ABS sensor wire bracket from the wall to reduce risk of damaging it.

For the fronts, remove the abs sensor wire from the upper A arm, the brake line from the shock body, undo the upper A arm, the lower shock mount bolt, and the two upper mount bolts (the ones in the engine bay). The shock should come right out.

For the rears, undo the swaybar endlinks, the upper/lower shock bolts, and step on the rotor/upper a arm ball joint. It might be a bit than the front, but not that much. Once the sway bar is undone, it'll come off easy. The real PITA is the upper bolts which are covered by the fuel pipe. PM me if you still need help.

Don't undo the swaybar in front, you don't need to.

Thanks! This is what I'm going to do, from reading other posts on here. They call it a short and easier cut. Before I went on here reading about removing the upper A-arm, I thought of removing it myself, but when I examined it, those bolts are pretty huge and they scared me.

But anyway, thanks!

Any advice or recommendation for the driver's side rear corner? The roof motor seems to be blocking the upper bolts of the struts. Although I haven't examined it closely, but it seems to be posing a problem. Thx!
