Suspension/Alignment Question
I got into my 2nd crash with my S about 2 months ago. The damage has been done mostly at the Right Rear side. The car is fixed for the most part but the Right Rear side of my car hasnt been aligned correctly. The body shop has already replaced the upper and lower control arms with used parts, as well as the hub bearing. I took my car to Sears to get it aligned but still couldnt be aligned. The mechanic said that it would be the control arms most likely. Called the body shop and they ordered brand new upper and lower control arms. I'm hoping that could be the fix. If not, does anyone have any ideas?

id spec out the subframe if i were you. choose 2 points in an "X" shape and measure the distances. they should be even. if not its the subframe.
im guessing that the rear end of the car came around on you and you got intoa curb or something...i did the exact same thing and it was just a knuckle that needed replacing. i got lucky.
measure your controll arms and cross check it against the left side. as that side was not damaged im assuming. if the cont. arms spec out then lift the rear end, take off the wheels and look at the knuckles. the distance form the balljoints to the solid piece of the hub should tell you if its bent.
im also asuming you have toe out.
just step back and look at the rear knuckles with the wheels off, you'll know really fast.
if none of those pan out...you've got a big problem

The first thing to bend is the knuckle, guaranteed. Even in a light accident.
Take a look at the one part of the knuckle that sits close to the backing plate. I'll bet it's different than the other side.

its also called a spindle sometimes...mostly in the truck world.
I think tehy can also be called hubs. its where all the ball joints attatch, where the wheel studs attach and where the wheel bearing sits. its hard to explain but its the huge hunk of metal that basically everything that is unsprung bolts to

camber is adjusted at the lower control arm.
sounds like the rear subframe is bent slightly at a point where the guy doing the alighnment cant see it by eye.

the knuckle will normally bend and give you toe rather than camber issues (granted one affects the other but on a grand scale)
if the knuckle is good i would defenitely be specing those lower/upper cont arms and all the rear arms back there. id almost put money on it at this time that tis a subframe
