Suspension alignment bolts torque specs
I haven't checked the torque specs for the suspension bolts that control the alignment but I was cautioned my a Miata owner who said most Miata owners go way beyond the published torque specs because they'll loosen up quickly.
When torquing the S2K's suspension bolts, do you follow the specs or find that you have to go beyond the specs to ensure they stay tight?

I think staying on torque spec is fair enough for this bolt. I really dont think that making it tighter will do any good and will prevent you from getting out of spec. It really depends where you drive.

I have had more than one problem because the bolts were not tightened to spec.. it seems few alignment techs use a torque wrench. I now get under the car after an alignment to check the torque (has only been done correctly when I made an issue of it at the dealership) and I don't think it is a bad idea to be on the high side when compensating the variance in wrenches and technique.

Thanks for the info. Now here's the question. I forgot to look at my Helms manual this morning and I don't want to have to drive all the way back home just to get it, so what is the torque specs for all of the alignment bolts?
