Bump. Any follow-up? I'm thinking of going this route.

for max power in NA with least weight may want to try single 5" supertrapp. mine are each rated at 250hp for 2liters(4"disk, 17.5 in lenghth, so it may not fully breathe with only one.)

i used to think they sounded great, but they are not as melodious to me lately and are slightly flatulent at idle. its still a decent sound, recently i've admired Prolene's spoon single exhaust and spoon test pipe....

What about tuning the supertrapps seperately for a dual pitched sound? Like 2 disks in one and 6 in the other, or something like that. That might sound pretty cool.

The flat sound you hear in the pipes is probably because the cans need to be repacked. I have done this to many bike pipes that have a similar core design (actually almost all aftermarket bike pipes use this design). To make the packing last longer, we used to wrap the perferated core with woven fiberglass cloth (a real corse open weave) then wrap it with fiberglass exhaust packing mat, the woven glass cloth will keep the mat from being blown out of the pipe. The deeper sound will return with new packing. It will also get noticably quieter.
FWIW.

thanks, yeah i was thinking that the packing might of going away, but they do not seem louder, but i think you may be right. i may be getting more deaf from another vehicle as well!!! or the deeper sound is actually more boomy than now? i'll see about repacking them.

incbus, i have tried different discs on a motorcycle dual system that is asymetrical, but not on the honda.
